Fellow AEUCers (AEUCites),

I've been hearing from quite a few firms and I'm nailing down the focus and structure of the promised Aderant-Specific SQL Training by Swerdlove. Particularly, thre seems to be a need for two primary participant types: the business analyst who wants to pick up both the SQL query language and a solid grounding in the Aderant tables; and the IT-technical types who already have a strong background in SQL but no background in the Aderant data structure – and, often not a lot of law firm accounting background.

In both situations, I'm still thinking that we would meet for five consecutive days, but 90 minutes per day (rather than an hour), keep the class-size down to 15 individuals maximum, for a tuition of $450 for the first student; $400 for additional seats.

All participants should make sure they have access to their own firm TEST database and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) in order to work along with me, but on their own firm data.  This might mean making arrangements with your in house IT Dept and might take a while to put into place.  Dual monitors are extremely helpful to follow along on Zoom and work independently with SSMS and Expert.

As we head into summer, I'm very interested in hearing what everybody's availability is, whether we should target the month of August or whether there would be too many people on vacation.

Here are my two syllabi – the first for the business analyst and the second for the IT member.
