Clayton Utz is looking for a Data Warehouse Architect. The position is based in Sydney, Australia within the Business Intelligence Team of the Finance Department, reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager.


Clayton Utz has a BI solution that utilises


  • Cognos for presentation

  • TM1 cubes for OLAP data

  • A relational Data Warehouse built on  Microsoft SQL/Server (2016)

  • Some data from transactional databases


The BI environment is at a reasonable level of maturity however there are continuing demands placed by the business to expand the subject areas it covers and an on-going need to advance the technical environment.


The ideal candidate for this role will have solid domain expertise in Legal/Professional Services business/systems in general and Expert in particular with measures of performance that are commonly used. The business understanding and an ability to see or discover how that is reflected in data from source systems is crucial. The ideal candidate will also have strong skills in designing table structures to store data for reporting and in developing SQL Stored Procedures (possibly complex) to transform raw data into fact and dimension tables for consumption in the data warehouse.


SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages are used to drive the updates to the data warehouse. Extensive experience with SSIS is not essential, but skills will be developed over time.
